• Manage Bloom: White marks, known as 'bloom,' may appear as the wax rises to the surface. This is a natural characteristic of authentic waxed canvas and adds to its vintage charm.
• Handle Scratches: Scratches may cause white lines to appear on the surface. To reduce visibility, gently rub the area with your fingers or use a hairdryer on a low setting to warm the wax and redistribute it.
• Wax Wear: Over time, the wax may gradually wear away, but the canvas color will remain vibrant and will not fade.
• Redistribute Wax: To minimize bloom or scratches, use a hairdryer on a low to medium setting. Hold it about six inches from the bag and gently heat the affected areas. This helps redistribute the wax evenly, maintaining the bag’s appearance and water-resistant properties.
• Leather Care: If needed, apply a good leather conditioner to the leather handles and accents to keep them soft and prevent cracking. Avoid applying conditioner to the waxed canvas.
• Avoid Machine Washing: Do not machine wash or dry clean, as this can damage the wax coating.
• Air Dry Only: If the bag gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally, away from direct heat sources.
• Store Properly: When not in use, store the bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or heat, and avoid folding it for long periods to prevent creases.
